Andrew Golis is the Deputy Publisher of talkingpointsmemo.com and all the TPM Media blogs.
TPM’s blogs are widely regarded as among the most innovative and influential political blogs in the country. Their groundbreaking work has been lauded in publications like the New York Times, GQ, and the Columbia Journalism Review. This past February, TPM Media was the first web-only news operation to receive the George Polk Award for its reporting on the US Attorney Scandal.
As Deputy Publisher, Andrew manages the design, monetization and distribution of all of TPM’s content. His job is to make sure that the amazing work done by TPM’s editorial staff finds both a direct and distributed audience and brings in the revenue necessary to continue to scale up TPM’s rapidly expanding operation.
Previously, he was an Associate Editor at TPM running TPMCafe.com, TPM’s community blog for discussions of politics, books, culture and activism. He’s worked in Democratic politics as a Staff Organizer for Howard Dean’s campaign for the presidency and as the Assistant Training Director for the Democratic National Committee. He also played an advisory role in designing and launching the Causes application for facebook.com, led the design and launch of Predict06.com, and has consulted for a handful of small web publishers.
Andrew studied social theory and American political history at Harvard College, where he ran a variety of campus campaigns and founded the Harvard Progressive Advocacy Group and the campus progressive political blog CambridgeCommon.com.
He was born and raised in Santa Rosa, California. He lives in Astoria, Queens with his girlfriend and their cat and dog.
