The cool thing about having liberal teevee shows is that when liberal journalists have news that they’re breaking they can go on teevee to talk about it!
This is why Maddow’s show is so important. It’s not just an opportunity for a single extremely bright liberal pundit to get a big audience and advance liberal arguments. It’s an opportunity to mainstream an entire community of journalists and the vital information they’re producing every day.
How many times did Fox put Jerome Corsi, the author of the atrocious right-wing smear job The Obama Nation on the air when he was promoting his book. Dozens and dozens of times. And he’s a lying jackass who makes stuff up. Ari Berman is an actual journalist who reports actual facts.
So mark that down as one Ari on the air for dozens of Corsis. If we can get them to parity, we might have a chance of actually fixing this country.

This is the same reason progressive radio is so important — although many fewere people are exposed to it. And it’s also why NPR so clearly isn’t progressive, in the sense that Rachel is: NPR shows don’t book anyone who they think of as having an axe to grind. At most, they report on the controversy.

Unfortunately, she’s on too late and immediately after Keith Olbermann, who covers most of the same ground as her, but before she gets to it.
And after Chris Matthews has been on twice, also covering much of the same ground.
If people start noticing her she will drawl lots of Republican complaints.
And then MSNBC will just fire her.

I knew Rachel when she was a local DJ at WRSI in western Ma. She was a go getter then and just gets better and better.

As in Air America? ‘Many fewere’ people are exposed to it because of its vitriolic hatred. Advertisers won’t touch it for that reason. But does anybody learn?
